ALEC Launches “Robotics Strategy” at Annual Innovation Day in Dubai

Dr. Mao Jiazhen, CTO of WEIBUILD Technology, introduced WEIBUILD's product technology roadmap for construction robots and provided an overview of current application results during the event.

At its annual Innovation Day event, ALEC unveiled its new "Robotics Strategy," which aims to revolutionize core construction processes through the use of cutting-edge automation solutions. This initiative aligns with the company’s broader innovation agenda. ALEC plans to collaborate with global leaders in robotics technology to implement innovative solutions in its construction projects and introduce these technologies to the region, thereby elevating industry standards.

ALEC is a subsidiary of Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), the principal investment arm of the Dubai government. Operating in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ALEC is a leading group in construction and related services. The company sets industry benchmarks in quality, safety, functionality, and aesthetics by building and providing architectural solutions.

The new "ALEC Robotics Strategy" builds upon the "ALEC Robotics Outline," which was launched in 2017. Since then, the company has tested and deployed nine innovative robotic solutions. Building on this momentum, ALEC will now closely collaborate with government agencies, local and international universities, as well as robotics companies and startups, to evaluate up to 20 robotics ideas and partnerships annually. The company aims to automate 5% of its construction activities with mature robotic solutions within five years.

Fourteen pioneers in construction robotics from around the world attended the event, including representatives from NYU Abu Dhabi, HILTI Liechtenstein, Construction Robotics USA, Angelswing Korea, and WEIBUILD Technology from China. ALEC expressed that it expects to engage in close cooperation with WEIBUILD Technology on various fronts, including the application plan for WEIBUILD's construction robots, by the end of this year. Both parties are confident that their joint efforts will lead to mutual benefits and promote the development of the Middle Eastern construction robotics market.

During this meeting, WEIBUILD Technology’s independently developed construction robots, as the first invited mainland robotics brand, received high praise from numerous international experts, such as the Chair of the UN Technology Committee and advisors from the World Economic Forum's Investment Committee. Moving forward, WEIBUILD will continue to focus on product refinement and accelerate its international market expansion, aiming to bring Chinese construction robots to the global stage and strive towards the goal of popularizing an efficient and intelligent construction system worldwide. WEIBUILD looks forward to deepening cooperation with more international partners to jointly explore endless possibilities in the international market.
